The Classical Difference

DSCA beliefs on Humanity are that God made mankind in His image, created us male and female, begins life at conception, and gives us dominion and authority over His creation with the accountability of stewardship and ambassadorship. He also ordained marriage between one man and one woman as the basis for the family which He entrusted with the responsibility of raising and educating children in the Lord. (Gen 1:26-28, 2:18-25, 5:2;  Ps 8, 127:3-5, 139:13-16; Is 44:24; Jer 1:4-5; 2 Cor 5:18-21; Eph 2:10; 5; 1 Pet 4:8-11; Col 3:23-24; 2 Thes 1:11-12; Prov 22:6; Deut 6:6-7)

About God: We believe in the one and only God, Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, the God of the Bible, who has revealed Himself as eternally existing as One and yet in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:1-3; 2 Sam 7:22; Psalm 90:2; John 1:1-5; 2 Cor 13:14; Col 1:15-17; 1 Tim 2:5)
About Jesus: We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, fully God and fully man. We believe Christ died as a perfect sacrifice for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day, personally appearing to his disciples. We believe Jesus ascended to heaven, and He will return to earth in glory and judgment. (Is 9:6; Matt 1:23; 25:31-33; Luke 1:26-35; Rom 6:9-10; 1 Cor 15:1-8; Eph 1:7; 1 Thes 4:13-18)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the presence of God, who makes men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. We believe he also abides in every Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in doing what is right. (John 16:7–15; Rom 5:5, 8:12-16, 26; Gal 4:6; Eph 1:13-14; 1 John 4:13)
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God to all people, and an inerrant revelation of Himself and His plan of salvation. We believe the Bible not only contains the Word of God but also actually is God’s Word and, therefore, is the complete and final authority for belief and behavior. (Psalm 12:6, 19:7-11; 119; Proverbs 30:5; John 8:32; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Pet 1:19-21)

We believe salvation is a gift from God, and a person becomes a child of God through faith and trust in Jesus Christ who shed His blood as an atonement for our sins.  In doing so a person’s sins are forgiven; he becomes a new creation in Christ and receives eternal life. (John 3:16, 5:24, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Rom 3:22-26, 5:8-9, 6:23, 10:9-10; 2 Cor 5:21; Eph 2:1-9; Titus 3:5; Heb 9:14; 1 Pet 2:24)

We believe that the Church exists in a local assembly of believers and in a universal aspect, as the Body of Christ. We believe the Church has the purpose to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ. (Matt 28:19-20; 1 Cor 12:12-13, 27-28; Eph 2:19-22; Col 1:24-25)
