Head of School

Becky Welborn

When God called me to open a Christian school over 17 years ago, I was humbled. He had been preparing me with a deep love for education and a degree in Business Management from the University of Texas. All He needed was a willing heart. I grew up in this community, and James and I have raised our three boys here, so it is an honor to serve God through training Christ’s ambassadors at DSCA.

Accounts Manager & Photographer

Rebecca McCrocklin

I have been involved with DSCA since the beginning in 2006. Although I have no formal training in education, and my husband and I have no children of our own, God has called me to minister in a variety of ways to the children of others. Through my love of the Lord, I am blessed to see your children in a special way and, with photography, capture their tender hearts and joyous spirits throughout the school to share with you. It is an honor to serve at DSCA.

Assistant Business Manager

Jen Kuykendall

As a fine arts major in photography she has launched a successful career. Jen has worked with well known businesses to ensure they are seen in the best light by her photography.
Working with business has given her the skill set to be effective organization skills, a leader, and ability to prioritize workflow.

Jen has a deep passion for scripture and seeks to understand at a deeper level. She is bee-ken of light and lifts up those around her by her compassion.

Brookes Dungan

I am thankful to God for all He has done in my life and is still doing in being conformed to the image of Christ. I believe leading by example is important; I love to read the Bible with my students as I teach them who God is.
I am passionate about teaching the scriptures to children and youth- it makes me happy as I watch my students learn more about God, as they grow into the individuals God created them to be. I have a Child Development Associates and am working towards obtaining my Masters in Christian Education. My hobbies include playing piano, exercise, horseback riding, hiking, volleyball and travel. I have a heart for missional work and for sharing the Gospel to children around the world. I am very thankful for the opportunity to teach at DSCA!
K4 Preschool

Robin Carson

I was born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada, and moved with my family to Texas in 1995.  I returned to the area to be with family again last year.  I graduated from University in Waxahachie, TX with a Bachelors degree in Counseling/Psychology.  I have worked in Social Work and different ministries, but most of my experience has been caring for children in a preschool environment (around 10 yrs). I do not have children, but enjoy time with my family (including my niece and nephew).  I love to travel, to be in nature, to read, and to spend time with God.  I also love to explore and learn, and hope to share these joys with the children I teach here at DSCA
Kindergarten

Emily Weyel

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Benjamin Franklin

I was raised the second of seven children in a classical Christian homeschooled environment. In highschool I served as a full time nanny and tutor for other homeschooling families as well as my own younger siblings. When I am not working I love to use my hands in my garden and kitchen, grow my library, or have a cup of coffee with family and friends. I am passionate about teaching children through music, memory and nature and giving them not only the materials they need but helping them to nourish and develop a true love for learning. I am delighted to serve with DSCA as the hands and feet of Jesus in our community!

1st Grade

Julie FitzGerald

I love being a part of the DSCA family!  I graduated from Texas A&M and then taught 1st and 2nd grades in Houston.  I took off several years to stay at home with my baby boys who are now teens. After that, I served as a preschool director and substitute teacher for DSISD. I love spending time with my family, traveling, reading, and watching the boys play sports.  I feel that God called me into teaching. With His help, I daily strive to lead my students to excellence.

2nd Grade

Kris Maguire

After graduating from California State University at Chico with a degree in Communication Design, I went on to begin my career in advertising as a Graphic Designer and Art Director. Little did I know what the Lord had planned for my future career path. My husband (who happens to be my high school sweet heart) and I decided early in our careers to pursue jobs overseas. We spent 8 years in Munich, Germany and returned back to the beloved state of Texas with 3 children in tow. While overseas, the Lord placed influential people in my path which in turn led me to begin a new career as a homeschool mother.  Fortunately, coloring for a living was right up my alley. I fell in love with Classical Christian Education and as I began to educate my own children, a whole world of learning that I never experienced opened up before me. History came to life, writing became beautiful, and mathematics…well, were still mathematics. My three beautiful and courageous children are now almost grown and venturing out into higher education.  I love teaching children, especially in regards history and God’s plan in it. It never ceases to amaze and humble me what God has done and is doing.  It is a privilege and honor to be able to share this with little ones.

3rd Grade

Becca Stimmel

This will be my seventh year working with students in an education setting, though first at a Christian school. I am excited there was not only an opportunity for myself but also for my son to join the DSCA family this year. We are both military brats, the bulk of my family is scattered in Texas, but have family in West Virginia and Nebraska. Which means we are hoping to still see snow once in a while, just not have to shovel anymore! We just recently adopted a dog, which we are having quite a bit of fun with him. I was blessed to stay at home with my son until he started kindergarten, and knew I wanted to get back into teaching. I plan to have my bachelor’s degree completed this spring and go straight into a master’s. I am obsessed with all things History, especially the founding of America and Texas.  I count it an honor and a blessing to be able to fully incorporate all aspects of God’s amazing Love and Redemptive story into daily learning at school.

4th Grade

April Peterson

Hello! I am excited to start my first year at DSCA! I have taught many children throughout the years (including my three boys) and have a special place in my heart for teaching the youth about the love of our precious Lord. I have experience teaching in Christian, private, & public schools and homeschooling for the past 28 years.

My pride and joy is my family! Between my husband, three sons, and two grandsons, I am quite outnumbered- and wouldn’t want it any other way!

I am thrilled to be a part of your children’s lives and show them why God made them so special and how loved they are by Him. I truly believe we have a fantastic year ahead of us!

I look forward to teaching here at DSCA.

Frank Zeravica

I was born and raised on Long Island in NY. I moved to Texas in 1979 and have lived here ever since. I came to teaching fairly late in life after careers in both construction and as the cellar master of a local winery. I’ve taught for 25 years, the majority of that at William B. Travis High School. I was in charge of the credit recovery program most of that time. The program was made to let students who have failed a class they needed to graduate to make it up. I’m excited to be part of the DSCA family and look forward to a fun productive year for my students.

Once a month Lisa and I teach elementary kids in the Kids Zone at HCBCDS, and each Sunday I lead a Bible Study at The Burke Center for Youth in Driftwood, where I also serve as a Mentor.

Prior to HCBCDS Lisa and I attended Dripping Springs United Methodist Church for about 12 years, where we were both trained to be Stephens Ministers, and each attended the Walk to Emmaus program.

This will be my first year teaching High School Bible Study at DSCA and I am looking forward to learning and growing in my walk alongside the students and staff at DSCA.

Faith Formation Lead

Chad Prytula

I grew up in Michigan in the Metro Detroit area. During my first year of college pursuing electrical engineering I had an encounter with the Lord and He spoke to me to give my life to full time vocational ministry. So I moved to Colorado to do a 3 year ministry training program at New Life Church in Colorado Springs. It was there that I met my wife. I worked full time on staff at the church for 5 years after my ministry training was over. From there we moved here to Texas to work for a missions training organization here in Dripping Springs called Mountain Gateway. We primarily run the admin and then teach the prayer and Bible semester for the students. We have 4 kids, 3 boys and a girl. The goal of our lives is to spend ourselves on behalf of the advancement of the Kingdom of God and making disciples in all contexts of life. We are deeply grateful for the love Jesus has shown us through the shedding of His blood to purchase our souls for eternity and there is no greater reward than to see the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering.
